Appearance: B'dan is everything a good rider should be--tall, strong, and clean-cut. He stands at an even six feet in height, and he has built up a strong frame from his turns as a rider. His skin is lightly tanned from spending so much time outside. He has a square jaw, and there is a faint scar from his jaw going into his hairline, the result of a run-in with an angry mother firelizard. His eyes are a dark chocolate brown.
B'dan is always clean-shaven and he keeps his dark brown hair short, because it's easier to keep under a riding helmet. He is always dressed practically and comfortably. B'dan does not like to dress up or make himself the center of attention with his clothes.
Personality: Calm and collected, B'dan rarely loses his temper. He is optimistic and looks on the bright side of life. He believes there is nothing that can't be solved with a little thinking and elbow grease. With his calm personality, he is a good person to go to for advice, and B'dan has an almost fatherly side to him. People say that Healers aren't made, they are born, and that could be true for B'dan. Even though his duties as Weyrleader take away from his work as a Healer, he still can't turn away from someone in need. He is kind-hearted and wouldn't dream of intentionally hurting someone. This is a guy who takes spiders outside instead of killing them. He is patient and never seems to lose his temper.
He is dedicated to his Weyr and his work as a rider, and he believes that the honor code of riders is very important. B'dan frowns upon anyone who tries to use their position as a rider to gain selfish things. He doesn't understand why the Northern Holders have abandoned their respect for riders and he dreams of a day when dragonriders will regain their rightful place as protectors of Pern.
B'dan is a quiet soul, not someone who seeks the spotlight, but he is comfortable with being a leader. Sometimes he has bouts of nervousness about appearing in front of a crowd or he wonders if he is doing the right thing, but some words of encouragement from his dragon are enough to restore his confidence. History: B'dan, formerly Brydan, was born and bred in Firerock Weyr. His mother, Briese, is a greenrider and his father, D'vran, is a brownrider. Briese had always wanted children and decided to carry the child to term when she discovered she was pregnant. Brydan was raised in the creche but with frequent visits from both his parents. He was a quiet, well behaved child who played well with others but who was often teased for being a momma's boy.
He was always known as a caring kid, and he often helped his fellow weyrbrats. Brydan took to hanging around the infirmary and helping the Healers. He was especially interested in Dragonhealing because he loved dragons so much. Of course he became a candidate as soon as he could. Everyone was surprised when he Impressed at age 12 to bronze Eriloth.
B'dan was too young to join the Wings so he acted as a messenger after he passed weyrling training. He also studied with the Healers some more and became an apprentice Dragonhealer. B'dan joined the Wings at age 16 and became a journeyman Dragonhealer at 20. In the Wing, he was known as a calming influence among his fellow riders and a hard worker. He was determined to prepare for Thread and he never doubted that it would return. As the turns past B'dan came to be well respected in the Wing.
One turn, a Searchrider brought a young woman named Kalla to the Weyr, and she Impressed the Weyr's new gold. Two turns later, Vallenth rose...and Eriloth caught. B'dan was shocked to realize that he was now Weyrleader but he has taken the change of position in stride, striving to become a fair leader. Of course, becoming a leader has almost seemed easier to him than knowing he is making the right moves with Kalla!

Appearance: Eriloth is an impressive dragon, big and strong with a large wingspan. He is in his prime, past the awkwardness of youth but without losing any of his strength. His hide is a reddish shade of bronze with swirls of caramel throughout, especially on his wings.
Personality: Eriloth is proud, sometimes arrogant. He is confident in himself and his abilities as a dragon, and he does not like it when anyone disputes it. Unlike his rider, Eriloth sometimes has a nasty temper, and can explode when he gets angry. Fortunately, the moods pass quickly, and he usually forgets whatever it was that made him mad.
